Wendy Halsey-Richardson EXPOSED Billing Irregularities

Elderly people with hearing problems often buy hearing aids.

Often they get a fair price on hearing aids which improve their quality of life.

But then there's Dr. Wendy, who also uses the name Chattanooga's Healthy Hearing.

Say she quotes a price of $4200 for a set of hearing aids to an elderly patient.  Up in their eighties.  On a cane.

And there's agreement.

Later Dr. Wendy finds out the insurance plan allows for $4400.

What does she do?

Honor her agreement for $4200, or change her price on the sly to $4400.

DR. WENDY'S STANDARD MO

Of course she decided to rip off the insurance company.

But it gets even better (or worse, for the insurance companies).

Say there are two different insurance plans that will pay.  She bills them both.

Collects more than $5,000, and hopes no one will notice.

Dr. Wendy sold a set of hearing aids.  Which provided no improvement in hearing.

Take it back for a refund, right?

WENDY HULSEY RICHARDSON LOVES TO CHANGE HER STORY

At any reputable shop, of course.  Dr. Wendy's receptionist said, Sure, no problem.  Full refund if returned within 60 days.  Returned within 2 weeks.

Wendy said her receptionist was lying, and actually there would be no full refund.

But the insurance companies were notified, and they shut down her little scam.

In this case only.

She ended up billing Medicare for about $150, of which Medicare allowed only about $50.

CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO THE MEDICARE COMMUNITY

Who knows how many times she's gotten away with non-consensual price hikes and double billing insurance.
